We believe shared lives lead to changed lives!

Thoughts from David Alexander

Dear First Family,

I hope that you have had a wonderful week and are looking forward to being a part of worship this weekend. Today I wanted to highlight several opportunities in the life of the church for you to consider and share with others.

We want to help every person in our church connect with a discipleship group this fall. During all our services this weekend our Discipleship Staff will be in the Atrium to answer any questions you have and share about their Gather Three, Pizza Free focus which is all about helping you join or start a new group with others.

On our website at www.fmcm.org/groups, you can also find information about starting a new group, joining an existing group or Sunday School class, as well as a variety of resources for those who are already leading or participating in a discipleship group or class.

If you have any questions, I hope you will stop by the Atrium this weekend or email our team at grouplife@fmcm.org

A specific opportunity I want to highlight is our Journey Through Grief group. We offer both a morning and evening session of this six-week class, and like all our groups and classes, Journey Through Grief is not just for you, but for anyone in our community who might be blessed by this important ministry

If you or somebody you know has experienced a loss, I want to encourage you to find more information or register by visiting this link

This weekend, Pastor Julian and I will be continuing our journey through season two of Real Christianity. This fall, we are focusing on what it means to be a Christian by walking through the teaching Jesus offers in The Sermon on the Mount which we find in the Gospel of Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7.

If you missed last weekend, you can find the first message of this season here. And if you haven’t already, let me encourage you to make our First 15 devotional part of your daily discipline as we ask God to lead us to a deeper understanding of what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus who loves God, loves others and serves the world.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend!
