It is so good to be home!

Thoughts from David Alexander

Dear First Family,

After some wonderful time away with our family, it is so good to be home. I am eagerly anticipating being back in worship with you this weekend. I know that has been the theme of the week for many of you as teachers, students and administrators returned to school this past week.

We also have a very special night planned for this evening.

All are invited to a night of worship which will include our first ever live album recording in our sanctuary at 7pm. The songs we will sing together were written by our contemporary worship leaders, Dylan and Larisa Peacock, during the first season of Real Christianity that we shared this past spring. You will not want to miss being a part of this experience as we sing and celebrate what God is doing in our church and in the ministry that Dylan and Larisa bless us with each week. Note that childcare is available for children in kindergarten and younger, you can register for that here

On Saturday morning, our sanctuary will be open again from 11-noon for a time of Healing Prayer.

Alongside our Care Chaplains, our pastors will be available to pray with you and for you during this time. No registration is required. All are welcome to come and be a part of this time of praying for grace, peace and healing over one another.

Finally, this weekend Pastor Julian and I will be sharing the first weekend in our second season of Real Christianity.

For the next thirteen weeks, we are going to be walking through the most extensive teaching of Jesus in the Gospels found in Matthew 5-7 and commonly referred to as the Sermon on the Mount. As we focus on deepening our understanding of what it means to be a Christian, in the same way his first disciples did, we will gather each week at the feet of Jesus to learn from our Master.

I hope you will be a part of worship this weekend – Saturday Night at 6, Sunday morning at 9:30 am or 11 am – as we begin this next season together.

I love you,
Pastor David
