What is First Things First
First Things First is an expression of a simple principle meant to direct our daily living as maturing disciples of Jesus. We believe that faithfulness in the first things has the power to change everything. Colossians 1:17 says it like this. “He is before all things and in Him all things hold together.” This is one of the great paradoxes we experience when we commit to living as a maturing disciple of Jesus. When we put first things first, giving Him the first day of our week, the first minutes of our day, the first fruits of our resources, life actually begins to make sense. These practices enable us to fully enter into the blessing of the fullness of life Jesus longs for all to find.
Living like Jesus means living generously.
A generous life is one that reflects God’s heart, God’s character, and God’s desire that, “all peoples of the world would be blessed through you.” Giving the first fruits of our resources is a tangible way we live into our shared prayer for “God’s kingdom to come and God’s will to be done.” And in a supernatural way, by connecting our heart to God’s heart, generosity has the power to transform us from the inside out. We resist the temptation to serve anything less than God, hoping it might give us what only God can give.
Faithfulness in this first thing really does have the power to change everything.

We believe that God has called our church to a great work.
MAKING AND MATURING DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST WHO LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS, AND SERVE THE WORLD.
This mission can only be accomplished through our shared sacrifice. It is only through the sacrifice we share together that we are able to do this work. Generosity changes our lives and enables each of us to do our part in funding the great work of bringing change into the lives of others.
Here are just a few ways your investment fuels this mission we share:
- Providing a variety of study and worship services that help others live more faithfully as a follower of Jesus Christ.
- Making a positive impact in the community by the many different outreach opportunities.
- Engaging those of all ages and stages through our Included Special Needs Ministry Ball, Vacation Bible Camp, United Mission Week, and weekly ministries.
In response to God’s great generosity, we are invited to live a generous life.
