Support Groups

WHAT ARE SUPPORT GROUPS?

Our Support Groups are designed to provide a safe, healing space where we can connect with others and find a supportive community. Connecting with a supportive group can help us with feelings of loneliness, shame, guilt, and fear; can reduce stress, depression, anxiety, and despair; and can help us practice healthy coping skills for our struggles.

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP

Mondays • 9:30 – 10:30 am • Room 113 (Bldg D)
Grief support is for ongoing support, comfort and community during a season you might be going through with hurt, anxiety, loneliness and grief. Grief shows up in many different ways. We want you to know you aren’t alone in your journey and we are here for you. Our facilitator for this group has been with our Grief Ministry for many years and has an understanding of the different stages and types of grief. If you have any questions, please email us at supportgroups@fmcm.org.

BREAST CANCER GROUP

2nd Monday • 7:00 – 8:30 pm • Room 3 (Bldg C)
This group provides emotional support, information sharing, and a sense of community during the challenging journey of breast cancer. Receiving support from friends and family is so important, but it’s also helpful to connect with people who have gone through or are going through similar experiences with breast cancer. If you have questions, please email me at supportgroups@fmcm.org.

Upcoming Breast Cancer Group Dates:

  • December 9
  • January 13

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

1st Tuesday • 6:30 – 7:30 pm • Gathering Room (Room 102 Bldg D)
Join the Cancer Support Group on the first Tuesday of each month in Bldg. D, the Gathering Space. Here you will find people that you can interact with that have first-hand experience with cancer. You can talk with them about their experiences and share your own. In a support group where you can find a place that helps you feel less alone.
