Food Ministry

Food Ministry

Our Food Ministry reaches those who just need a little extra love during a difficult time to helping fight against food insecurity. We collect and deliver food to share with the homeless, the elderly, and families in need. We are able to do this through the generosity of our congregation, the community, and partnerships with organizations and groups. Join us as we share the love of God and make a positive impact in our neighborhoods through food.

FEED THE KIDS

Starting September 9th • Wednesdays • 4:00 – 5:00 pm • Room 117 (Bldg D)

Make a difference this school year by serving with the Feed the Kids Backpack Program! Volunteers of all ages are invited to help prepare bags of food for local children in our community. These bags help children with food during the days they are not in school. Feed the Kids Backpack Program fills bags weekly with food and snacks to distribute to the children of Mansfield ISD who are food insecure. If you are looking for an activity to do with your family and give back to our community, this great serving opportunity happens the entire school year. Come join us!

FMCM FOOD PANTRY

The FMCM Food Pantry is located here on the FMCM campus in Building D. Our goal is to help provide food to those who are hungry. The food we hand out is made possible to us through the generosity of our congregation and community, and consists of non-perishable food items.

The FMCM Food Pantry needs:

  • Dry breakfast cereal, peanut butter & jelly
  • Protein soups, pasta & pasta sauce
  • Rice, beans, canned fruits & vegetables
  • Individually wrapped snacks (PB crackers, granola bars, and trail mix)

*Donations can be dropped off in the blue bins around the campus or at building D.

GRACE FOOD MINISTRY

Grace Food Ministry is happening weekly to support various ministry partners. These partners include:

  • Feeding Families– Meals for Mansfield families
  • Monthly Senior Luncheon– Lunch for the Senior group at the Mansfield Activity Center
  • Heart Meals are delivering soup and/or casseroles to people who attend FMCM to remind them they are never alone and we are praying for them. You can help with this by making a casserole or chicken soup or delivering the Heart Meal
  • Baking Team helps bake for a variety of events throughout the year

To be added to any of these lists of those who can help, please email missions@fmcm.org.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Our church is the drop-off point for the Mansfield area Meals on Wheels program of Tarrant County. Delivering meals at the front door for our homebound neighbors is one of our ongoing volunteer opportunities with Meals On Wheels. Volunteers come from all walks of life: individuals, couples, retirees, stay-at-home moms, and dads, as well as groups. Anyone who can spare 1 ½ hours just one day per week Monday through Friday can change someone’s life for the better.

If you would like to learn more about volunteering weekly or as an occasional sub, contact missions@fmcm.org.
