Be part of an awesome weekend!

by David Alexander

Thoughts from David Alexander

Dear First Family,

This past Wednesday we hosted a dinner for all those who have made a membership commitment to our church over the last two years. It was another affirmation of what I recently shared in a letter that…

Something happens within our life together when another’s expression of how God is moving in their life mirrors how God is moving in ours.

This is the movement of God that I see happening in the life of our congregation and though I stand amazed at all that I have seen happen in our church over the past 17 years, I have never experienced anything as profound as what I see happening right now

In response, faithfulness is really easy to identify. It is simply continuing to lean in to what God is doing in your life, in my life and in the life that we share.

I want to challenge you to join me in that this weekend as we continue moving through this season of pursuing Real Christianity

I also want to share a special invitation for you to be a part of our Confirmation Commitment Service this Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Tomorrow afternoon I will be at Glen Lake Camp baptizing some of those young men and women who are a part of this year’s Confirmation class.

On Sunday afternoon, they will each come to the altar to profess their faith in Christ and become full members of our congregation. It is one of the most meaningful and inspiring moments of our entire year and I would love for you to be there to affirm these young people in this time of commitment.

Finally, this weekend we will be officially welcoming Rev. Thomas Mitchell to our pastoral staff! I hope you will take the time to share a warm word of welcome with Pastor Thomas and his family after any of our worship services this weekend!

It is going to be an awesome weekend. It’s another chance for us all to lean in and say, “Thank you God for the gift of being a part of what you are doing right here and right now!”

Grace & Peace,
Pastor David
