Thoughts from David Alexander

Dear First Family,

I hope you will be with us this Sunday on this July 4th weekend!

We will all be gathering for one big July 4th celebration and worship service at 11am this Sunday. As I know you would expect, the music is going to be phenomenal featuring some of our patriotic favorites. I promise you will not want to miss what our worship teams have planned for this special Sunday.

Don’t forget… Just one service this weekend at 11am! We will not be having Children’s Programming and we would love to have your children join us in worship. For children ages 3 years and younger, we will have nursery available. Please take a moment and register them here.

This weekend we will also be welcoming Rev. Jan Davis to our pastoral staff. Since 2016, Rev. Jan Davis has served as the Senior Pastor at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, one of the largest United Methodist churches in Arkansas. Prior to that, she served for 18 years as a pastor in the Dallas area.

It is our joy to welcome Pastor Jan and her husband Deames back to the North Texas area. If you want to learn more about Pastor Jan, you can check out this interview I did with her just a few weeks ago.

Starting July 11th we will be kicking off United Mission Week for our Junior High & High School students. As you can imagine it takes a great amount of volunteers to make this special week happen.

Here are three ways you can help:

We have a couple of spots open for Middle School work team adults. Few things will inspire you more than serving alongside our students. If you are interested in this opportunity, email students@fmcm.org

If you cannot serve during the week, help us pick up or drop off one of the 17 vans we will rent for our work teams. Email info@fmcm.org if you are interested.

Share some food!. We are feeding over 200 volunteers and students this week and would love your help on making sure they are really well fed! Visit this donation list for more information.

I hope you will be present or join us online this Sunday! If you will not be present, but would like to send a note to welcome Pastor Jan you can send that to pastorjan@fmcm.org.

I love you and I am proud of you!

Pastor David
