We Have So Much To Celebrate

by David Alexander

Thoughts from David Alexander

Dear First Family,

It has been a phenomenal week with over 500 kids participating in Vacation Bible Camp this week! 278 adults and youth volunteers gave their time and talent to make that happen. It was awesome to see seeds of faith being planted into the lives of each child.

There are few things more inspiring than hearing a group of second grade kids chanting, “God loves me! God loves me! God loves me!”

If you want to see a snapshot of the joy this week has been, you are invited to our Vacation Bible Camp Family Night this evening starting at 6:30 pm in our sanctuary.

This weekend you will have the opportunity to see a short video to highlight this incredible week as well as how much our kids raised to benefit the Feed the Kids program for children right here in Mansfield Independent School District area.

This weekend we will also be celebrating the ministry of Pastor Shea Reyenga.

This past Monday Night, Pastor Shea was ordained as a Full Elder in the United Methodist Church and next weekend he will begin serving as the Senior Pastor at Bethesda United Methodist Church located just a few miles outside of Weatherford.

We are so proud of Shea and have been richly blessed to have Shea, Lindsey and Max these past three years. I am equally proud of you for the multiple ways you have poured into their family.

You are welcome to stop by our Atrium before or after service to share your appreciation for their great ministry here. If you have a card or gift you would like to share you can also bring that at that time as well.

Finally, I want you to know about what’s coming up the following weekend.

On Sunday, July 4th, we are going to have one big worship service and July 4th celebration at 11am. I know you are not going to want to miss the amazing music our choir, orchestra and other worship leaders have planned for this special day.

We will also be welcoming Rev. Jan Davis who will be joining our pastoral team. She will be a part of worship on July 4th. You will also be invited to share a personal welcome with her before or after the 11am service in our Atrium.

If you want to know more about Jan and her family, you can watch this video interview she and I shared several weeks ago. I cannot wait for you to meet her!

I love you and I am proud of you!

Pastor David
