FAMILY MINISTRY EVENTS
BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYER
August 14th • 9:00 – 10:00 AM • Building A221 (outside the Loft)
Join us for a time of coffee & pastries, prayer, and maybe even a few tears as the new school year begins! At 9:15 am we will gather as a large group in the space outside of The Loft in Building A, where we will pray for a successful and safe school year for all students, staff, and parents. All are welcome to join, so bring your friends and family who are available and would like to be part of this special morning. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents from our community, as well as some of the staff at FMCM, so we hope to see you there!
PROMOTION SUNDAY / BACKPACK BLESSINGS
August 17th & 18th • During All Services
Hey parents! Promotion weekend is coming up on August 17th & 18th! This is the weekend the kids will move up to the next grade level in children’s programming. Children’s staff will be available to assist with this transition and help you find your child’s new classroom!
This will also be the weekend we will do our back-to-school backpack blessing! We encourage the kids to bring their backpacks with them to church on Saturday night at 6:00 pm, or Sunday morning at either 9:30 am or 11:00 am, for a special backpack blessing. We will also have some fun photo booths set up in Building A to take some great back-to-school photos!
FAMILY MINISTRY BIG EVENT
August 21st • 6:30 – 8:00 PM • The Sanctuary
Our Family Ministry Team is excited to introduce you to all we have to offer you and your family during our Big Event! Join us on Wednesday, August 21st in the Sanctuary first as we give a quick overview of our Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry, and Included Special Needs Ministry. After that short time is finished you are invited to go to our designated ministry spaces to experience all that each of our ministries has to offer and meet all of our Family Ministry Staff. This Big Event is open to all families who have children ages birth to 12th grade, those who have special needs children and adults, and anybody interested in learning more about these growing ministries and how you can get involved. This is a great way to connect with other families!

5th GRADE FIESTA
August 11th • 5:00 – 6:30 PM • The Loft
Attention all 5th graders and their parents, you are invited to join us for our 5th-grade Fiesta on Sunday, Aug. 11th at 5 pm! The Children’s Ministry staff would like to celebrate with you as you transition into Student’s Ministry. We will have games, a nacho bar, and more in The Loft from 5-6:30. This event is open to all of those who will be going into the 5th grade for the 2024-2025 school year.
KINDERGARTEN BIBLES AND PARENT MEETING
August 10th and 11th • All Children’s Services • The Gym
We are excited to announce we will be moving kindergarten into our elementary children’s programming beginning this school year! To make this big milestone even more special, we will be presenting all children who will be entering kindergarten AND first grade this fall with their very own Bible! We invite all parents of incoming kindergarteners and first graders to join us in the gym on either Saturday 8/10 at 6 pm, or Sunday 8/11 at 9:30 am or 11:00 am, to be a part of this special celebration for these sweet kiddos. Once large group worship and the Bible presentation are over, the kids will join their classes for small group time and we ask that parents stay for a brief parent meeting and Q&A session to find out more about children’s ministry.

Student Summer Fun! 5 – 8th Grade Late Night Fun
August 2nd • 7:00 – 11:45 PM • The Loft
School is just a couple of weeks from kicking off, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun until then! All 5-8th grade students are invited to a United Student Late Night at the church. We will have snacks, play games, have a movie going, and more. It’s going to be a lot of fun so invite your friends and come hangout with us! Please have everyone planning on going to sign up so we know how many people to expect. Cost: $10 All events are on the same registration form. 55+ ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Summer is here and it’s hot, but what screams more fun than an “Ice Cream Social”? Join us on Tuesday, August 20th from 1:00- 3:00 in the Building D- Gathering Room for fellowship, ice cream, and fun. Please bring ONE of the following: – Homemade Ice Cream – Your favorite Store-bought Ice Cream For those bringing their homemade ice cream creations, we will have a fun taste test competition and decide on the winner! Our 55+ Ministry will provide bowls, spoons, and all kinds of wonderful toppings for the Ice Cream. Registration is required- register here.

DIVORCE CARE
Begins August 28th • 6:30 – 8:00 PM • Building D101
Join us for a 13-week class starting Wednesday, August 28th – November 20th from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm in Bldg. D, room 101. Divorce Care will help you face your challenges and move toward rebuilding your life in a different season. Maybe you’ve been divorced for some time but you realize you’re still struggling with unresolved emotions. This class might be for you. MANSFIELD ISD & COMMON GROUND’S BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH

The Mansfield ISD and Common Ground host an annual Back to School Bash to get students excited and ready to go back to school every August. Volunteers are needed to help pass out backpacks and shoes at the Mansfield ISD’s Back to School Bash from 7 a.m. to noon at the Dr. Jim Vazsauskas Center for Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane.
