Dear First Family,
Jesus, you must become greater and I must become less.
These words, originally spoken by John the Baptist, has this prayer at the heart of the emphasis we have been sharing during this season in which we are each prayerfully considering our financial support of the mission and ministry that we have together.
If you have been a part of this church for any extended period of time, I hope you have already experienced that this church is about doing great things. One expression of that will take place this evening with our Annual Special Needs Included Ball.
And this beautiful event, like everything else we do together, is only possible because of our shared generosity.
God brings about growth. The Holy Spirit empowers the work, but our surrendered lives and faithful generosity are the tools of His trade.
At the end of all of our services this weekend, we will be inviting all those who call First Methodist Mansfield home to bring their commitment card to the altar as we recommit ourselves to this sacred work we share.
I hope you will be with us this weekend as we take part in an inspiring time of worship and continue leaning into our desire for Jesus to become greater in our lives. Join me in praying for God’s blessings to continue to be multiplied through the mission and ministry we have here at First Methodist Mansfield. If for some reason you are unable to attend worship this weekend and would like to fill out an electronic commitment form, you can do that here. If you did not receive our generosity packet or would like more information about our Greater Generosity Campaign, you can visit our website here.
May God bless you and may God bless First Methodist Mansfield as we seek to continue to be a blessing to others in our community and in communities around the world.
