FIRST METHODIST KIDS ELEMENTARY
Our elementary program brings Bible stories to life using innovative methods to help children grow in wisdom, faith, and friendships. We point the Kindergarten – 4th grade children to Jesus by giving them a place to worship and to learn virtues through engaging Bible stories and Children’s worship. They also participate in an age-appropriate small group time with leaders who believe in them.
WEEKEND WORSHIP
Saturdays • 6:00 pm | Sundays • 9:30 am & 11:00 am (Kindergarten – 4th Grade)
Our program coincides with our Saturday and Sunday worship services.
During elementary programming, Kindergarten – 4th grade children are welcomed by the friendly faces of the Kids Ministry staff, along with adult and youth volunteers who join us in building friendships, enjoying fellowship, singing praise and discovering biblical truths.
Our weekend worship for elementary-aged kids is centered on engaging lessons that bring key Biblical truths to life. Through creative storytelling, interactive activities, and worship, children learn how to apply these truths in their daily lives. Our goal is to nurture their spiritual growth and help them develop a strong, lasting faith.
In our elementary programming we concentrate on Three Basic Truths:
- I need to make the wise choice
- I can trust God no matter what
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated
We realize that many kids attend two service times. To ensure they are engaged, motivated, and enjoy their time with us, we will provide different elements each hour. Each session will contain different worship songs, videos, and live teaching elements, and also different activities during small group time.
MIDWEEK WORSHIP
Wednesdays • 6:30 -8:00 pm (Kindergarten – 4th Graders)
On Wednesdays during the school year, we host Midweek Worship, which offers a mix of fellowship, large group games, and small group discussions. This midweek gathering provides a deeper dive into God’s Word, reinforcing what children learn on Sundays and encouraging them to build meaningful relationships with their peers. The children will rotate through the activities while grouped by grade level. Children are encouraged to invite friends to this awesome and highly active, midweek experience. It’s a time to explore faith further, grow in community, and have a lot of fun!
Safety and Security
We provide a safe and secure environment so that you can feel at ease leaving your child in the care of our dedicated staff and volunteers who have undergone a background check and training in safety and sanitation. In addition to that, the Kids Ministry staff are CPR/First Aid trained. The check-in computers are located on the 1st floor of building A where staff is available to help you.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Check-in computers are located on the 1st floor of Building A at both entrances. There are always staff members or volunteers available at each of these check-in stations on weekends and Wednesday evenings. If it is your first time to bring your child to our program, please ask a staff member or volunteer to help you enter your information into the check-in computer. Once your information is entered, you will be able to type in your name and easily check in your child each time you come.
When you check in your child, you will receive 3 printed stickers; 2 with their name and classroom number, and 1 with an alphanumeric code. Please have your child wear one of the name stickers and take the other name sticker and place it in the correct grade level box at the check in table in the gym. You will keep the sticker with the alphanumeric code because you will need to show it to the teacher at pick up.
