Early Childhood

FIRST METHODIST KIDS EARLY CHILDHOOD

It is our privilege to partner with families as we give infants through preschoolers their first impression of their Heavenly Father during our early childhood program. Your littles will be taught a Bible story in an exciting and interactive way as well as participate in a variety of activities to help them apply what they have learned. Our early childhood program coincides with our worship services on Saturdays and  Sundays, as well as our Midweek Worship on Wednesday evenings, and is taught by our highly trained Kids Care staff.

WEEKEND WORSHIP

Saturday • 6:00 pm | Sunday • 9:30 & 11:00 am (Infants – PreK)

Our program coincides with our Saturday and Sunday worship services.

  • Nursery is for Infants – 24 months
  • Early Childhood Classes are for 2-year-olds – Pre-Kindergarteners (must be 2 years old by September 1 of the current school year)

We offer an inviting atmosphere with engaging activities so your child looks forward to coming to church and will leave with a message that will stick with them. In our early childhood program, children will participate in a large group praise and worship time where they sing songs and hear about Jesus. In the classrooms, you will find staff who love your children, as they share lessons that are experiential, fun, relevant and focus on the biblical truth for the week. We also share resources, lessons, tips, and curriculum to help you, the parent, extend their learning from church into the home.

Through our early childhood program we seek to develop a good understanding of God and a core faith through three concepts:

  1. God made me.
  2. God loves me.
  3. Jesus wants to be my friend

MIDWEEK WORSHIP

Wednesday • 6:30 – 8:00 pm (Infants – PreK)

  • Nursery is for Infants – 24 months
  • Early Childhood Classes are for 2-year-olds – Pre-Kindergarteners (must be 2 years old by September 1 of the current school year)

On Wednesdays during the school year, we host Midweek Worship for early childhood to allow caregivers to attend or lead on-campus gatherings or serve with Next Gen Ministries during Midweek Programming. Children will experience God’s love in a fun and nurturing environment, through interactions with leaders and peers. Age appropriate Bible stories, songs and hands-on activities are a part of each session, helping to lay a foundation for a lifelong faith.

Safety and Security

We provide a safe and secure environment so that you can feel at ease leaving your child in the care of our dedicated and caring staff that are CPR/First Aid trained and background checked. If there is a need for a volunteer to help, they too have been trained and been background checked. Check-in computers are located on the 1st floor of Building A where staff is available to help you.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Check-in computers are located on the 1st floor of Building A at both entrances. There are always staff members or volunteers available at each of these check-in stations on weekends and Wednesday evenings. If it is your first time to bring your child to our program, please ask a staff member or volunteer to help you enter your information into the check-in computer. Once your information is entered, you will be able to type in your name and easily check in your child each time you come.

When you check in your child, you will receive 3 printed stickers; 2 with their name and classroom number, and 1 with an alphanumeric code. Please have your child wear one of the name stickers and take the other name sticker and give it to their classroom teacher (you will find their classroom number will be printed on the sticker). You will keep the sticker with the alphanumeric code because you will need to show it to the teacher at pick up.
