“Come, bless the Lord!”

by David Alexander

Dear First Family,

It was good to be back home with you in worship last weekend and we had a great night on our campus for our Ministry Kickoff event last Sunday as well.

This past Wednesday, the mid-week programming of our children and student ministry was back in full swing along with our Choir and Orchestra. Next Wednesday, September 6th, at 6:30 pm, our Refresh Women’s Ministry will begin a fall Bible study on the book of Luke. For more information on Refresh or any of our women’s ministries, you can send an email to refresh@fmcm.org.

I’m looking forward to the return of our Pastors Bible Study which will begin the following Wednesday, September 13th, at 9:30am in our Chapel. Pastor Jan and I will be leading Pastors Bible Study this fall focusing on the book of James. Alongside those opportunities, we have a whole host of groups and studies that are kicking off this fall season.

If you would like any help making a connection to any one of those, you can always send us an email at info@fmcm.org

This coming weekend, we will be sharing the final piece of our Summer of Psalms season. We will look at the last of the “Songs of Ascent” sung by the ancient Israelite pilgrims on their journey to Jerusalem to participate in the annual festivals like the festival of Passover.

The opening words of that last song, Psalm 134, serve as a perfect invitation as we prepare for this weekend,

“Come, bless the Lord.”

This is why we gather and I look forward to being with you this weekend for that time of blessing. If you are traveling this Labor Day Weekend, don’t forget you can join us online at www.fmcm.org/live at any of our normal worship hours – Saturday Night at 6:00pm and Sunday morning at 9:30am and 11:00am.

I love you and I am proud of you,

Pastor David
