Good Morning City On A Hill,
Did you know that 777 N. Walnut Creek, our church property, sits atop one of the high-points around Mansfield? We are on a hill! This weekend, during our BIG Christmas city-wide outreach event called The Christmas Stroll, we have a chance to not just be a property on a hill but instead… we can be as Jesus’ described a “City on a Hill” from Matthew 5:14-16.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
On Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm we are bringing Christmas and the birth of the Savior of the world to anyone and everyone in Mansfield who wants a little light in their life. We are not only the City on the Hill, we have a chance to be people of the light.
Come out to the Christmas Stroll tomorrow, it’s completely an outdoor & stay-moving event, safe and fun for our entire congregation, all our neighbors, and the entire city. Let your light shine before others because at First Methodist Mansfield… we believe that the “Love thy neighbor” thing is real and Brother does this world need a little love right now.
