CHRISTmas is here!

by David Alexander

Dear First Family,

On the first day of December, it feels like we are already in the middle of our Christmas season together. That will be on full display this weekend as our atrium will be filling up fast with the gifts many of you will be bringing for this year’s Angel Tree.

If you did not have a chance to adopt an angel this year and still would like to help, visit our website here for a donation link and serving opportunities.

We will also be having our Happy Birthday Jesus event this Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Our preschoolers and elementary kids are invited to bring their families for a time of worship in our chapel followed by some fun family activities in our gym. We will also be collecting new teddy bears to donate to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.

If you would like to participate, please bring a new stuffed bear (without scents or electronics) and our team will deliver the bears to Cook Children’s Hospital.

It’s still a few weeks away, but our preparation is ramping up for the nine Christmas Eve Candlelight services we will be sharing with our community at the culmination of this season. Here are several ways you can help.

If you have not done so already, make plans to be a part of one of those nine services which are listed below.
December 23
2pm – Family Service
6pm – Contemporary Service
8pm – Traditions Service

December 24
10am – Family Service
2pm – Family Service
4pm – Contemporary Service
6pm – Contemporary Service
8pm – Traditions Service
11:30pm – Communion and Candlelight Serivce

Once those plans are made, here’s two additional things I want to invite you to do.

First, invite someone to share Christmas Eve with you! They might want to join you at the service you will be attending but be sure and let them know all the opportunities that we have.

Second, consider serving as a host with our guest services team to greet and welcome our guests this Christmas. You can find out more about how you can serve at any of our nine services by visiting this link

Lastly, I want to highlight our Remembrance Service that will take place next Sunday, December 10th, at 4pm in our Sanctuary. For anyone who wants to honor and remember a loved one during this last year, we offer this special service each year to bless and support  you during this holiday season.

I look forward to being with you this weekend as we continue our Advent journey towards the celebration of the birth of our Savior.

Grace & Peace,

David
