4 Things I Want You To Know

by David Alexander

Thoughts from David Alexander

Dear First Family,

I hope you will be joining in-person or online at 9:30 am or 11 am this Sunday. Our phenomenal worship leaders have a great time of worship planned and I’m looking forward to sharing the next message in our Restoration series.

Today, I am writing to share four things I want to make sure everyone in our church knows about.

First, I want you to know about the new and expanded format of our devotional resource The First 15 which we launched last Monday. The First 15 is a resource we produce designed to help you give the first 15 minutes of your day to God. You can subscribe to receive that via email every Monday through Friday. It is also available on our website. If you have not already connected with First 15 or have drifted away from this daily habit of spending time with God, I want to invite you to check out The First 15 today by visiting this link.

Second, I want you to know that we are relaunching our weekly Pastor’s Bible Study this Wednesday at 9:30am in our Sanctuary. You can join me in-person or online at that time. Each week of Pastors Bible Study will also be available to watch anytime on our website. The format is really simple. We select a book of the Bible and walk through it together each week. Wherever we stop is where we pick up the following Wednesday. This week we will begin reading the Gospel of Luke.

Here’s number three…This weekend we will return to offering a shuttle service on Sunday mornings. Previously, that shuttle ran between the Chick Fil A parking lot and our Walnut Creek circle drive. Our shuttle will now run between our brand new parking lot located across Pleasant Ridge Drive and the expanded Pleasant Ridge circle drive providing easy access to all our main buildings including our sanctuary.

We give God thanks that our need for additional parking has returned!

Finally, I want to make sure you know about the big news Pastor Jan shared yesterday about our new Student Ministry Director, William Mansfield. I cannot wait for you to meet William who is finishing up his Masters of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. We are anticipating welcoming the Mansfield family to Mansfield in early October.

To learn more about William and his family, the passion he brings to this vital role in our church, and the great student ministry staff he will be joining, I want to encourage you to read this note from Pastor Jan.

This weekend as we continue our focus on God’s work of Restoration – taking what is broken and making it beautiful again – what an incredible joy it is to see restoration happening right now in the life we share together.

I love you and I am proud of you,

Pastor David
