Dear First Family,
I want to begin with a word of thanks for the kind and thoughtful words so many of you shared with Stephanie and me this past week as we celebrated our 20th anniversary of serving this great church. It has been an unexpected and abundant blessing to have the chance to share life with you over these past two decades.
You have loved us so well. You have blessed our children. You are our home and we are so grateful for all your kind expressions of love and appreciation.
I hope you are continuing to experience joy in our shared daily practice of pausing at noon to pray the Lord’s Prayer. I also hope that you have added the Lectio 365 devotional resource to your daily rhythm as well. If you have not yet downloaded that app you can do that by visiting this link for the Apple app store and this link for the Google app store.
Both of these practices are at the heart of the primary goal we are pursuing in 2025. I hope you already know what that is, but in case you do not, here it is.
We want to empower one another to develop and deepen in the daily habit of prayer.
At the end of our 11 am worship service this past weekend, I shared that I believe God is going to transform our church through this year of prayer.
I believe that over the course of this year, we are going to become known as a praying church and that you are going to become known as a person of prayer.
When this year comes to a close, we are going to be a different people than we were when this year began, and God is going to do that work in us through our shared commitment to deepening and developing in the daily habit of prayer.
I’m so grateful for the many years I’ve been blessed to be a part of this incredible faith community, but I’m convinced that what’s next is going to be even greater than anything I’ve experienced here before.
It’s going to be an incredible ride.
God is on the move.
I don’t want you to miss it.
Even greater things are still to come.
Pastor David
