CENTRAL TEXAS FLOOD RESPONSE
The severe flooding in Central Texas has been devastating, with the number of lives lost continuing to climb as first responders continue with rescue and recovery efforts. We, along with our disaster response partners Texans on Mission, are responding. TXM-trained chaplains are ministering to families in this sensitive and heartbreaking situation. In these very difficult moments, they comfort a community that’s in shock. At this moment, our most powerful tool as a church is unending prayer. Please pray for all impacted, and for those doing all they can to rescue and recover those missing.
Other TXM Disaster Relief units are preparing to deploy, including flood recovery, shower/laundry, and chainsaw teams. Working with Hill Country churches, TXM is already gathering addresses for people who have suffered flood damage.
If you are a trained TXM disaster response volunteer, you will have received or will receive information about potential deployment. For anyone else, if you would like to donate to the disaster response efforts, you can click this link. An initial donation of $5,000 is being sent this week, but more will be needed in what is sure to be a long recovery process.
Lord, hear our prayers!
MISSION WEEK NEEDS
July 13 – 17
Mission Week starts on Sunday! One of the greatest aspects of Mission Week is that we host it on our campus and support our own community through various mission projects throughout the week. This is a great way for everyone in our church to contribute in various ways! One of the biggest needs for the week is food donations. Here is a link to their Amazon wishlist where you can purchase an item and have it sent directly to our kitchen team. Donating fresh fruit is also a great way to help that week. Fresh fruit is used in lunches and for breakfast. If you would like to donate, grapes, apples, oranges, melons, or bananas – please bring them to the Atrium this weekend before or after worship.
