The Power of The Word

Dear First Family, 

What a joy it was to be in worship with you this past weekend as we celebrated mothers and our mothers in the faith. Outside of Easter, we had our highest-attended weekends this year as families gathered together to celebrate this special day. I hope that all our mothers and mothers in the faith felt loved and appreciated this weekend. 

I love how Pastor Thomas expressed it in his message at The Well by saying, 

“When we encounter the tenderness, strength, patience, and love of mothers, whether biological or Spiritual, we are catching a glimpse of God. Which means that when women are ignored, sidelined, or  silenced, something of God’s image goes unseen in our homes, our churches, and our world.” 

We have another great weekend of worship planned as we finish out our series, “The Power of Words.” We’ve looked at the words we say to others and the words we say to ourselves. This week, we will be focusing on the power of the words we say to God. 

We will also be presenting 2nd-grade Bibles in all of our services this weekend. If you have a 2nd grader or an older child who has not yet received a Bible from us, please fill out this form to ensure we have enough Bibles available in all of our worship services and spaces.  

On Sunday evening, we will also be celebrating our High School Seniors as they prepare for graduation. We have a special meal for each of them and their families, and will finish that night with a special worship service at 7 pm, where we will also be presenting them with a Study Bible and surrounding each one of them for a special prayer time as they transition into this next chapter. 

Everything we have planned for this weekend is a testament to who we are. 

We are a church that is centered in sharing the Word, believes in the Power of the Words, and celebrates every opportunity to invest in the next generation.
