Dear First Family,
If you have been a part of this church for any extended period of time I hope you have already experienced this church as being about doing great things.
We have dedicated this year to empowering one another to deepen and develop in the daily habit of prayer. We are constantly striving to make a difference in our local community and in the wider world. We want each person to be continually maturing in their life with Christ. We understand ourselves as a people who are being led by the Spirit and going somewhere together in faith.
And with all of that, I hope you also know that absolutely none of what we do would be possible without our shared generosity. We know that God brings about growth. God is the one who transforms lives, heals marriages, restores our brokenness, and empowers this work, but our surrendered lives and faithful generosity are the tools of His trade.
So as we celebrate what God has done, seek to partner with God in what he is doing, and anticipate what is yet to come, we are sharing a season of praying the words of John the Baptist from the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 3,
Jesus, you must become greater and I must become less.
If this is your faith home, by now you should have received a packet that is an invitation for you to prayerfully consider your financial support of the mission and ministry that we share together. Enclosed in that packet is a commitment card we’ll be inviting you to bring to the altar next weekend, March 1st and 2nd. If for some reason you did not receive a packet in the mail or if you have questions about your giving, stop by our Ministry Corner located in the Atrium this weekend and a member of our staff will be available to answer your questions and get you what you need. You can also email our finance department at finance@fmcm.org.
I hope you will be with us in worship this weekend as we continue leaning into our desire for Jesus to become greater in our lives and join me in praying for God’s blessings to continue to be multiplied through the mission and ministry that we share.
I love you and I am so proud of you,
Pastor David
