It’s going to be a beautiful weekend at the Pumpkin Patch!

by David Alexander

Dear First Family,

If you’ve not already stopped by, this weekend would be a great time to stop by our Pumpkin Patch. It’s a perfect location for some fall family photos and we certainly hope you will pick up some Pumpkins to take home as well.

Remember, 100% of the proceeds go right back into our local community through the work our students will be doing in our area during United Mission Week next summer. I expect it’s going to be a busy but beautiful weekend at the Patch!

Today, I want to remind you that we are one weekend away from two events in our life together.

First, our Ordination Service for Pastor Julian will happen next Sunday at 2pm in our Sanctuary.

I hope you already have that on your calendar but if you don’t please do that now! We want to pack the house for this historic occasion for our church and significant moment for Pastor Julian as well. If you are out of town, we will be broadcasting that online, but if you have the chance, I promise you will not want to miss being there in person.

Next Saturday, October 28th is our Fall Family Extravaganza!

Last year we had over 2000 people on our campus for this event making it one of the largest outreach events we have all year. I hope to see you there and want to encourage you to invite friends, family, and neighbors and there are also multiple ways you can participate in sharing this gift with our community.

You can sign up to be a “trunk” for Trunk or Treat. We will have a chili cook-off. Maybe you’ve got a great recipe to share, and of course, we can never have too much candy! We would love for you to bring a bag of candy this weekend for us to share.

One final thing for today…

Our Children’s Ministry is launching a brand new ministry called The Village. The Village will meet monthly and be a place for parents or caregivers for children and students to learn more about how to raise our kids to be the next generation of faithful disciples of Jesus.

This month’s gatherings will focus on setting kids up for long-term fulfillment, cultivating grit and purpose, and the essential role ‘our village’ plays in raising children. There will be two opportunities to participate, October 26th from 6:30pm – 8pm and October 31st from 9am – 10:30am.

More information about The Village is available here on our website

I love you and I am proud of you!
