Interest Groups

Our 55+ Senior Adult Ministry mixes fun with faith for those of us in the second phase of life. Though we may be near or at retirement age, we are not called to retire from life! God continues to ask each of us to serve, meet new people, engage in the Bible, and find joy in life! We want to stay engaged in the life of the church and community, so we offer events, trips, Bible studies, speakers, and opportunities to serve together. This church reaches out to the community with programs that challenge and enrich the mind and spirit, so all Boomers & Beyond events are open to guests and members. We would love for you to join us for any of our upcoming events or programs.

Come on Wednesday morning from 9:00 - 9:45 for our Chair Yoga class which is held in the Atrium area outside the Sanctuary, Bldg. B. We have two yoga instructors that will be leading at different times to guide you through stretching and strengthening in a safe way. Wear comfortable clothes and bring water. This is for men and women.

God's Crocheting & Sewing Ministry meets quarterly for food and fellowship.

Mission:
Guided by God's vision, we create handmade items for newborns, fostering community and creativity.

Goals:
Burp Cloths: 10x20, top-stitched
Baby Blankets: 36x40
Newborn Hats: Small sizes
Optional Projects: Bids on additional items
Sewing from Home:
Members sew a minimum of 30 burp cloths or collaborate on baby items.

Donations:
Our creations support four major hospitals:

Mansfield Hospital: 200 items
Medical City (Matlock Rd. & Mayfield): 200 items
Texas Huguley (Fort Worth): 200 items
Parkland Hospital: 300-350 items

Do you love to play the guitar? Join the Holy Pickers! All levels of experience are welcome. The Holy Pickers practice weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM in Building D. They perform at church events, nursing homes, and in the community.

Looking for a fun playgroup for your little ones? Want to connect with other parents and grandparents here in Mansfield? Then join us for Little Explorers! This group meets once a month at various locations throughout the community and is open to anyone with young children or grandchildren. Little Explorers is all about providing a space for the kids to play and explore while the adults have time to engage and connect with one another. Our men's softball league is for men of all skill levels. The action takes place on Tuesday's evenings. Our fall season will begin on November 12th - December 17th, 2024. Life can get crazy. There's power in men coming together to compete, pray, and HAVE FUN! Come be a part of it.

Quilting with Heart meets in Building C Room 8 from 1 - 3 PM. The Quilting with Heart women's group meets every third Wednesday of the month for fun, community, and quilting! Come and join the fun!

Everyone knows "it takes a village" when it comes to raising kids, and our newest group "The Village" is here to help you do just that. Each month The Village will feature a program that will highlight a particular challenge as it relates to parenting, mentoring, leading, and/or teaching children, and help you find ways to respond to those challenges in a practical and loving way.

The Village is intended for all types of caregivers as we all play a role in raising the children in our community! The goal is for everyone to have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and resources, while also making connections with other parents, grandparents, youth leaders, and teachers who are likely experiencing many of the same challenges when it comes to raising our children. We want to create a space where everyone can learn, share, laugh, cry, support and connect…after all, isn't that what a village is for?

We will Offer this wonderful group in two sessions per month. One will be the last Tuesday of each month in the morning with the second on the last Thursday of each month in the evening to give everyone an opportunity to attend.

Looking for a fun way to spend your Thursday evenings? Look no further than the Thursday Evening Pickleball Fellowship! Join us from 6-8 PM for some friendly competition and great company. So come on out and get your pickleball on! Co-ed.

Turning faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth around the world. All are welcome to join us at any time. United Women in Faith participates in monthly fellowship activities and serving projects. FMCM UMF Circle meets on the third Thursday of the month, except for June through August.

Join the widow's game group twice a month for social and game time. No experience necessary. This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.

Our Yarn Ministry group meets in Room 120 of Bldg. D on Mondays from 10 - 12. This is for all, from the newest beginner to the expert. For those that are beginners they will provide yarn and needles for you to get started; whether it's crocheting or knitting. They make potholders for the Food Pantry, baby blankets for the women's center, and also lap blankets and prayer shawls for Methodist Hospital. It's a great group of ladies!
