Hello Summer!

Dear First Family, 
 
Summer is officially here, but luckily, those triple digits are holding off for now. 
 
These next few months include many things for us each year. Vacation Bible Camp is right around the corner. Our Student Ministry and Missions Team are already hard at work preparing for our mid-July Mission week for our 5th – 12th grade students. 
 
Many are looking forward to some vacation time – what I like to call “extended Sabbath” – in the weeks ahead. If that’s in your plans, I hope you will continue to worship with us online through one of the many platforms while you are away, including YouTube, Facebook, and our website.

This weekend, we are looking forward to kicking off a new 5 week series, “What the Bible Doesn’t Say.” I think this will be a meaningful series as we explore some of the false assumptions we have about faith. 
 
It’s also a great opportunity to remind you to bring your Bible with you this weekend and every weekend! If you don’t have a Bible of your own, please let me know. We would love to bless you with that gift! 
 
As we anticipate all that God will do in this coming season, let me close by reminding you that we are currently registering children and students as well as recruiting adult volunteers for several special events this summer. 
 
Here is all the information you need about these upcoming opportunities for you to serve and to involve your kids and grandkids! 
 
VACATION BIBLE CAMP  •  Open to all current Pre-K – 4th grade students on June 9th – 12th for both day and night sessions. Visit our website here to register and for more information. 
 
We currently have 320 signed up to serve our kids and Included participants, and are in need of 20 more daytime adult volunteers. Email kids@fmcm.org if you are interested. 
 
5th GRADE MISSION SQUAD  •  This special experience during Mission Week is custom-designed just for our current 5th graders. It’s the perfect mix of fun and a meaningful mission experience. Register here. 
 
MISSION WEEK  •  Sign up for this powerful week of serving, worship, and relationship-building before June 15th. Mission Week is open to all those who have just completed 6th grade – 12th grade and will be July 13-17. Visit this link for more information. 
 
We currently have close to 50 volunteers signed up to serve our kids and Included participants, and are still in need of 6 team lead adults for 5th Grade Mission Squad and 36 team lead adults for Middle School and High School teams, as well as 6 more adults for our Included teams. We also have a great opportunity for somebody to become our Kitchen Team Leader and join several others who have signed up to provide meals for our participants at Mission Week.
