Dear First Family,
What a June… VBC, Strings Camp, and Cooper Flagg! We have had a busy summer so far with a successful Vacation Bible Camp and a Mansfield Strings Camp that just wrapped up yesterday. We had almost 100 participants on our campus this week, all making beautiful music and memories. I want to invite you to come to our Strings Camp Concert tonight at 6 pm in our Sanctuary. This concert is a wonderful celebration of all that happened this week at camp and a display of incredible talent. All are invited.
On July 13th, we will be hosting Mission Week alongside our Student Ministry and Included Special Needs Ministry. In total, we will have over 275 people on our campus and working in our community, as well as surrounding communities. We have 4 major needs that I know our Students and Included teams would love your help with:
• Donate food for our students and adult leaders to enjoy throughout the week. Here is a sign-up sheet for all of the items needed, and here is the Amazon wish list with items that will be sent directly to our Kitchen Team.
• Serve as an Adult Leader for one of our work teams or as a buddy for our Included Special Needs work teams. This is one of the most significant ways you can help, and likely one of the most rewarding opportunities. We are still in need of 6 more Adult Leaders for our Middle School teams, 1 more Adult Leader for a High School team, and 3 more buddies for our Included teams. If you are interested in learning more about what it means to be an Adult Leader on Mission Week, email our Student Ministry team here or our Included Ministry team here.
• Be a Shower House for the week. Offer your home as a Shower House—a space where students can recharge after a long day of service. You can provide snacks, drinks, or even pool access if available, but your warm hospitality alone is a blessing to these hardworking teams. We need 5 more shower houses. If you would like to offer your home as a shower house, please sign up here.
• Pick up/ Drop off a van. It is pretty amazing to see over 20 – 15 passenger vans in our community during Mission Week. One simple way to help is to help pick up or drop off one of these vans so that those who are spending a week with our students do not have to shoulder this responsibility. Lexi Headland is heading up this effort and would love to connect with her if you are interested. You can email her here.
I look forward to seeing you in worship as we continue our series, “What the Bible Doesn’t Say” from our incredible preaching and worship teams.
Taylor Davis
Executive Director
PS: If you plan on attending the Rangers Game alongside several of our ministries here at our church this Sunday, I would love to meet you!
