Dear First Family,
As we prepare for our Thanksgiving gatherings in the coming week, this Sunday we will be looking at how gratitude helps ensure that God remains first in our life in the final message of our First Things First series.
This past Sunday we shared a time of reaffirming our commitment to God being the first thing in your life. I was moved to see an altar table filled with your commitment cards at the end of last weekend’s services. If you did not have a chance to bring your commitment card to the altar, you are invited to do so this weekend.
Our Angel Tree tags will also be available for pickup this weekend. We will have more than 900 tags available for you to supply angel tree gifts for Methodist Children’s Home, Homeless Veterans, and Homeless Families. These tags will be available for the following two weekends and we will be collecting gifts through the first weekend of December.
This Sunday you will also be able to purchase a poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one. You can order online now by going to this link. Our United Methodist Women will be decorating our Sanctuary with these flowers through the Advent Season and may be taken home after any of our Candlelight Services on December 23rd or 24th.
With school out next week I know some of you may be traveling this weekend. If so, I hope you will join us for worship online. Giving God the first day of our week is one of the ways we practice putting God first in our life.
I’m looking forward to sharing the final message in this series grounded in our conviction that faithfulness in the first things has the power to change everything.
I love you and I am proud of you,
Pastor David
