Angel Tree and three other
opportunities this weekend

by David Alexander

Thoughts from David Alexander

Dear First Family,

This weekend we will be sharing the “penultimate episode” of our second season of Real Christianity. All throughout this fall, we have been seeking together a deeper understanding of the heart of Real Christianity by looking to the message of Jesus found in the Sermon on the Mount.

As we share these final two weeks, I pray that you’ve been as blessed as your pastors have been in this time spent slowly walking through one of the most extended teachings of Jesus we find in the Gospels.

This weekend we will look at the significant challenge Jesus presents in Matthew 7:13-14 to, “enter the narrow gate” and spend our whole lives traveling the, “narrow road that leads to life.”

With that, I want to make sure you are aware of four special opportunities this weekend.

First, our Angel Tree begins this weekend.
All are invited to stop by our atrium to choose an angel you can bless this Christmas in this community-wide partnership we share each year. For more information including additional ways you can serve with our Angel Tree team this year, please visit www.fmcm.org/angeltree

Tomorrow at 8am our Hands of Christ Ministry will be gathering to help with minor home repairs for elderly and disabled in the Mansfield Community for a day of serving elderly and disabled in the Mansfield community. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome to serve. You can register by visiting this link or email serving@fmcm.org for any additional questions you may have.

Sunday evening at 7pm, the Mansfield Philharmonic Orchestra will be sharing a free concert in our Sanctuary. Their presentation, In Praise and Thanksgiving will feature  Mozart – Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat Major, K. 495 and Bruckner – Symphony No. 4 in E-flat Major, “The Romantic.” For more information, you can visit the Mansfield Philharmonic website

Finally, we will begin our Christmas Poinsettias sale this weekend. Our United Women of Faith will be available for you to purchase a Poinsettia for $16 in honor or in memory of a loved one. You may also do that online by clicking this link. For any questions, please email chrissys@fmcm.org.

We are looking forward to sharing a weekend filled with great worship and these special opportunities as well.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
