Our church is centered in our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ who will love God, love others and serve the world. A disciple lives out a commitment to follow Jesus. For us, that means growing in deeper love with God and living by expressing that love in our relationships with others and in our commitment to serve and bless the world.
We believe that God’s grace takes root in our hearts and grows in our lives through our involvement in several key ways.
We believe that worship is the engine that drives the Christian life, along with the church. Worship grows out of the deepest longings of our hearts — to be connected to that which is beyond ourselves, the God who is the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of all life. We believe that a disciple of Jesus is one who sees their own life as being about glorifying God.
We believe that disciples willingly choose to “discipline” their lives with intention. This includes investment in the study of the Bible and how the Bible would lead us to pursue what Jesus described as “life to the full,” as well as our devotion to a consistent connection to God through prayer. Because we think it’s important to start each day in the Word, we have produced daily readings for you through our Daily First 15 devotional.
We believe the story of faith is built on the foundation of a God who loves and a God who gives. Therefore, we see generosity as a primary mark of a disciple of Jesus. This includes the sharing of our resources, our time, our talent and our treasures. Disciples of Jesus are those who intentionally pursue opportunities to sacrifice for the sake of blessing others. We believe God has called us to be a blessing to our city, our region and our entire world.
We believe that relationships are the primary value of our lives. A growing relationship with God leads to deeper relationships with one another. Loving God is inseparable from our call to love others. Investing ourselves in one another through small groups and other community activities fosters the maturing of God’s grace in our lives.
One final word . . .
We believe the church is at it’s best when the doors are open to all who have an interest in learning about the Christian faith. Wherever you are on your journey, no matter of where you fall on the deep questions of faith, our community is open to you.
