Confirmation (6th Grade)

Sundays • 12:30 – 2:30 pm • Beginning February 1, 2026

Owning your faith and beginning the journey.

Confirmation is a meaningful season of spiritual growth designed for 6th grade students to explore the foundations of the Christian faith alongside their peers and mentors.

Through this intentional spiritual formation program, students will begin to see what faith means to them and what it means to be confirmed members of First Methodist Mansfield. Confirmation will cover topics such as: God the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, creation, faith, salvation, scripture, baptism, the Apostles’ Creed, Christian community, and the church.

The Confirmation experience includes ten sessions and an overnight retreat, providing students with opportunities to reflect, ask questions, and take meaningful steps toward owning their faith. The journey culminates in the Confirmation Service, where students publicly affirm their response to God’s grace and proclaim their faith in Christ and their baptismal covenant.

Consistent attendance is essential for students to fully engage in the teachings, discussions, and activities that help them grow spiritually and personally.

To ensure your student receives the full benefit of the Confirmation program, we ask that they attend all scheduled sessions. If an unavoidable conflict arises, please communicate with us in advance so we can work together to make appropriate arrangements. Thank you for your partnership and commitment to helping your student make the most of this important step in their faith journey.
