A weekend of celebrations

by David Alexander

Dear First Family,

I am so proud and honored to serve a church that cares so deeply about blessing our local community and investing in the next generation. Our Vacation Bible Camp was a beautiful example of your commitment to this work.

I have witnessed hundreds of children, students, and adults singing, dancing, praying, laughing, and serving in incredible ways – even in the rain!

We had close to 550 total participants, including over 42 Included Special Needs participants, 13 of which were part of our Included Jr. (18 and younger).
And to make everything that happened this week possible, we had 250 volunteers, including 108 students in 5th through 12th grade
Of those 550 participants, we were also able to reach 82 families who are a part of our VBC experience and indicated that they do not have a church home

To top it all off, our children have been working hard to donate socks for the MISD Clothes Closet as of Thursday night, they collected over 1,300 pairs of socks. They also raised over $1600 which will be used to purchase shoes for the MISD Clothes Closet as well.

I have no doubt that these donations will bless hundreds of children.

We are celebrating fathers and men of faith in big ways this weekend in all four worship services as we honor the faithfulness of all the men who have blessed our lives. On Saturday night, the Included Ministry will serve “Dogs for Dads” (fresh grilled hot dogs, chips, and cookies) after the worship service with outdoor games under the tent and Kona Ice. On Sunday, we will have Donuts for Dads and breakfast tacos available from the Homebuilders Sunday School Class. We anticipate this weekend being a weekend full of people visiting our campus for the first time and this will be a great way for us to extend the gift of hospitality.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend. We have so much to celebrate.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor David
