Generosity Campaign

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Luke 6:38

Psalm 145 declares, “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.” The scriptures describe God’s love to be rich, indescribable, unimaginable, perfect. It’s a question for which we have no answer, and yet it is also one that faithfulness in the Christian life demands we constantly ask.

HOW BIG IS GOD’S HEART?

In 1 Chronicles, King David prays, “Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.” And perhaps these words articulate the only way we can adequately respond. We can only stand in awe of how big our God is, how exceedingly generous He is with the world he has made.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear him.” ~ Psalm 103:11

Faithfulness asks of us a similar question.

HOW BIG IS MY HEART?

It is out of His great love, the Apostle Paul declares, that we have been brought back into a new life. Grace and grace alone saves us, but it also transforms us. Grace cultivates love, nurtures compassion, strengthens our resolve, forms our character, enables us to see our lives and the world in a whole new way. Out of His abundance, abundant life flows. God does a great work in us. God grows our hearts and as our hearts expand, generosity begins to overflow.

In the weeks ahead, as we ponder the joy of serving a Big God with a Big Heart, our invitation is to lean and ask God to continue that great work of growing our hearts so that we might faithfully invest in the ministry we share, great work of making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love others and serve the world.
