Make UMCOR Relief Supply Kits

You can bless families in crisis and support our October 2021 UMCOR Sager Brown Relief Supply Depot mission team by making UMCOR relief supply kits to be delivered to the depot this fall. Invite your family, friends or small group to help. Assembly instructions for relief supply kits – cleaning kits, hygiene kits and school kits – can be found here. Once assembled, drop off your relief supply kits in the Big Blue Bins on campus. For more info, email serving@fmcm.org.

Summer Literacy Camperships

A Summer Campership with United Community Centers of Fort Worth provides a child the opportunity to gain literacy skills, in a nurturing environment, so they are ready to succeed when they return to school in the fall. United Community Centers’ summer goal is to improve the reading skills of 500 low-income students in the City of Fort Worth through their Summer Education Literacy Programs. If you would like to help provide this gift to a child, donate below.

PROJECT TRANSFORMATION

Children from under-served neighborhoods improve their literacy, social-emotional, and spiritual development through participating in this high-quality summer program led by college-age young adults. Neighborhood churches host the program and build relationships with their neighbors. Email serving@fmcm.org for more info.

SERVE THROUGH PRAYER

We’re looking forward to a whole summer of serving together as we volunteer, pray over, and provide support for all of our exciting summer ministries. Details on many of these ministries are included on the opposite of this page. We especially invite you to serve through prayer by using our 2021 Prayer Calendar.

WRITE A NOTE OR EMAIL TO SHARE THANKS AND ENCOURAGEMENT

Someone has been an encouragement to you recently. How might you pass on what you have received? Write a thank you to the person who encouraged you, then, write encouragement to someone who God’s Spirit has nudged you to think of today. Help the flow of serving one another growing more and more this summer.

CALL OR VISIT SOMEONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCED LOSS

When someone is grieving it is hard to find the right words, but the right words are not really what is most appreciated in times of loss. Simply being present and letting someone know they have been in your thoughts and prayers is comforting and reminds the person that they are not alone.

SOCIAL MEDIA GOOD NEWS

If you use a social media app, like Facebook or Instagram, serve your friends by making a commitment to sharing good news each day. Post a favorite bible verse or quote that influences others to find hope and encouragement in following the teachings and practices of Jesus Christ.

DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN OUR WORSHIP SERVICES ONLINE?

Invite a friend or two to join you for one of our first Sunday worship services online, then share in the sacrament of Holy Communion together during the service. Serving the bread and the juice to one another is a powerful way to share in the blessing and grace of the body of Christ.
