News Update for First Methodistby Amanda Hardeman
Many of you have asked several questions over the past couple of days. We wanted to take this time to answer your questions and give you some important information about what to expect this week.
When can I expect another update?
MARCH 18 • 12PM • ONLINE
Join us online on Wednesday March 18 at 12pm for another update from Pastor David. You can join us live on our website, on our FMCM app, and on Facebook Live. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
How do I give while the campus is closed?
Although our campus is closed, ministry is still happening. First Methodist Mansfield is still reaching into our community and congregation, and because of that your gifts are still important. If you would like to make an online gift, you can do that by going on our FMCM app or by going to fmcm.org/give. You are also welcome to send your gifts in the mail. We are picking up our mail daily. If you have any questions on ways you can give, contact our Director of Finance, Robin Lestina.
How can I stay connected to all that First Methodist Mansfield is doing?
We have several ways we are communicating during this time! Here is a breakdown of all of the kinds of communication we are offering and ways you can connect with us.
• Facebook/Facebook Live
We often share posts on Facebook that link to our website and other valuable resources. We also use Facebook Live to broadcast worship and create an online audience for you to be a part of. Make sure you”like” us on Facebook so you receive notifications on when we are live.
• FMCM App
This is absolutely the best time to download our app, if you have not downloaded it already. Our home page on the FMCM APP offers the latest updates and ways for you to connect. You can also receive notifications on the app that let you know about anything going on of importance at First Methodist Mansfield. If you have not downloaded the app you can do so by texting FMCMAPP to 77977 or by searching for FMCM in your app store.
• Email List
If you are receiving this email, it is because you are part of our email list that goes out church-wide. If you have a friend who is not getting emails from us, please let us know and we can get them connected. We will be sending out at least two emails a week to keep everybody on the same page.
We are operating off of our home page of our website to offer the most up to date information for you. If you go to fmcm.org you will see a large screen wide graphic or rotating graphics. Clicking on the graphic that you are interested in will help direct you to more information on that subject.
• Contact us
Our staff is working from home and checking our emails as much as we can. You can email our general email address firstname.lastname@example.org and we can direct your email to where it needs to go if you don’t know the email address of the staff you are trying to reach. You can also call the church office. That phone number (817-477-2287) is forwarded to somebody on our staff during office hours (9am - 5pm). If for some reason we are unable to answer the phone, please leave a message and somebody will call you back shortly.
• What if there is an emergency and I need to speak to somebody from the care team or a pastor?
Our care team and pastors have been working hard to connect with you and be available for you. If you are in need of care, please email us at email@example.com. Those emails are checked almost around the clock to make sure that we can provide the best care. If there is an emergency and you need to speak to a pastor immediately, please call us on our Pastoral Emergency Hotline at 817-739-4573 and you will be in touch with a pastor on our staff.
How Can I Help?
We have two opportunities for you to help right now.
- Pastor Tina has been working with our Care Chaplains and they are making phone calls to all our currently active members and guests just to check-in and see how you are doing and if you have any prayer concerns or needs you would like to share. If you would like to participate in making those calls, you can let us know by emailing our Care Ministry Team or by calling our church office and leaving a message.
- We're helping Common Ground Network collect single-serve entrée items for community food distribution, especially for kids home from school and the elderly. Microwaveable is good, but please, nothing that requires refrigeration, stove top or oven. Drop off in the big blue bins in front of our Missions Building on campus, Building D, the door marked D-102. Thank you for caring for our community! For more info email Missions & Serving.
First Methodist Mansfield is a church dedicated to loving God, loving others and serving the world. We would love for you to join us for worship this coming weekend. For all worship opportunities and ways to get connected, please visit our website.
