A Note From Pastor Shea

A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,

Good morning and happy Friday church family! Beginning last Sunday night and going through Thursday, Remote Mission Week took place. I know I speak on behalf of our pastors and staff in saying how proud we are of all our staff and volunteers who made Mission Week a success. We had 200 people participating ranging in age from 3 - 60 who picked up 2 dumpsters worth of trash in 5 Mansfield parks. 120 posters were made for the COVID Unit at Mansfield Methodist Hospital. 276 cards of encouragement were written and sent to Mansfield nursing homes. 6 community projects were completed with 27 cars driving through to donate to the Mansfield Mission Center. 4 ZOE calls and 5 nights of worship! Andrew and Casey were up against a tight timeline and worked especially hard making sure this unique Mission Week was special. In addition to Andrew and Casey, our worship and production teams and Pastor Julian showed up and showed out in a big way. Thank you to all of our volunteers and Students who served their neighbors this week. This entire month we are emphasizing serving and there are additional opportunities and ideas for you on our website. Let the serving continue!

Mission Week always requires endurance. That’s the focus for this week in worship. I hope you join us for week three in our series Chosen. We’re exploring how we are chosen for endurance. We endure opposition. In this world, we’re promised trouble. But we don’t endure alone. God is with us. And we have each other. As we endure together as the Body of Christ, we fulfill our purpose and show the world our hope will never run out because it’s placed in Jesus.

We’re excited about these upcoming ministry opportunities. Please take a look at what is upcoming below.

In celebration of our new parking lot and parking lot improvements being completed, we want to invite you to join us for a Prayer Walk and Chalk starting on Sunday July 19th and for the rest of the month! On your own time, and with your own creativity, come by our church campus and leave a prayer and pictures in chalk. Surround our campus in prayer! Invite your house church or make this a family outing. For more information, email us at info@fmcm.org.

This week kicked off our Great Month of Serving through United Mission Week! We have put together a variety of ways for you to serve with us this month, some ways you don't even need to leave your house! Go to fmcmonline.org/serve to see all the ways you can serve and print off our Serving Bingo Card.  You can serve! Join us!

Join me on Wednesday nights for an after-show discussion of The Chosen at 8:00 pm. We discussed episode 2 this week and will discuss episode 3 next Wednesday, July 22. We hope this is a time for you to stay connected with us during the summer and grow deeper as a disciple of Jesus. Register in advance for this Zoom discussion here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. If you have questions, contact us at grouplife@fmcm.org. If you missed this week’s discussion, you can watch the recording here.

I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online or by downloading our Church App by texting FMCMAPP to 77977 or by searching FMCM in your App Store.

I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus when the wave of this virus subsides. That day can’t come soon enough!

Grace and Peace in Christ,

Pastor Shea
