A Note From Pastor Sheaby Pastor Shea Reyenga
Dear First Family,
Now, more than ever, we need to stay connected. God made us for community. It is hardwired into us. We are social creatures. The long-term effects of social isolation are all negative so let’s be mindful of those we need to pray for and talk to. Please let us know how we can pray for you. If you simply need to talk and no one comes to mind to reach out to, please call the church! We want to make sure we’re watching over one another in love through this time.
I hope you join us in worship this weekend as we continue our series called The Next Great Awakening. Times of awakening are usually precipitated by faithful men and women seeking God like their lives depended on Him! Awakenings affect the wider culture who don’t know the Lord. There becomes a gracious awareness of God by people who have never personally known God before. I challenge you to read the histories of the Awakenings and Revivals of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. But before we’re able to see transformation, before we can expect to see the power of the Holy Spirit poured out in that way, we need to seek God like never before. Our goal in this sermon series isn’t to bring awakening or make awakening happen. None of us can do that. Only God can. Our goal is to allow God to revive our own souls so we become men and women who long for awakening, who ask God for it, who will not grow tired or weary until we see awakening come whether it’s in this life or the life that is to come. Awakening and revival starts with us. I hope you join us as Pastor David preaches on the importance of prayer.
This Sunday is also special because it’s Senior Sunday! Join us on Sunday, May 17th @ 5:00pm for worship, as we recognize the Seniors of First Methodist Mansfield! At the beginning of the service, there will be a slideshow that celebrates our seniors. We can't wait to celebrate the Class of 2020 - all they have accomplished and all they are going on to do!
Have you ordered your church yard sign? We now have an FMCM store where you can order your yard sign and so much more! Go to our website at fmcmonline.org/store to order one!
Here is the schedule for this weekend and the upcoming week. Please take note and share with others.
I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online or by downloading our Church App by texting FMCMAPP to 77977 or by searching FMCM in your App Store.
I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus when the wave of this virus subsides. That day can’t come soon enough!
Grace and Peace in Christ,
