A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,
I know you will be doubly blessed by worship this weekend. I look forward to seeing you around campus as we celebrate breaking new ground for our church’s mission to serve the Kingdom of God long into the future.
Please join Pastor David and me this weekend in worship as we continue our series, Double Blessing, inspired by Pastor Mark Batterson’s book of the same name. In his book Double Blessing, Batterson writes, "God doesn't bless us to raise our standard of living. God blesses us to raise our standard of giving." The way to get a double blessing is to give a double blessing. Generosity is often part of our life that is unplowed ground. We’ll be looking at God’s word through Hosea this week which has a command for us to, “Sow righteousness...and break up your unplowed ground.”
In addition to worship, celebrate with us afterward, and check out these upcoming ways to be in community and serve:
Breaking Ground on our Future! We want to invite you to join us for this special Groundbreaking Weekend on February 8th and 9th as we celebrate the start of Phase 1 of our Together Building Campaign! Opportunities to capture this special weekend will be available in the atrium and then make plans to join us in the sanctuary following the 11:00 services as we celebrate and break ground on our future!
Financial Peace University is Coming Next Week. On February 12 at 6:30 PM, you are invited to start taking control of your money with Financial Peace University (FPU). This nine-week course uses biblical wisdom and common sense to help you tackle budgeting, pay off debt, and make your money work for you! FPU includes your member workbook and a year of free online resources through Financial Peace Membership. Contact grouplife@fmcm.org for more information. Registration is required. Childcare is available with registration. Register today HERE.  If you have ever taken an FPU class you can attend the class for free as a refresher. If you want access to the new workbook and app you will need to update your membership.
IF: LOCAL. A Refresh Women’s Conference. Come join us on February 29, 9 AM-3 PM. We invite all women to gather as a community, get in the Word, experience powerful teaching, dive into authentic conversations, and worship Jesus! Join us at our conference where we will hear speakers from IF: Gathering 2020. This year we are going to focus on Jesus. He has set us free, so let’s live like it and enjoy it! Registration is just $15 per person and includes a catered lunch. Childcare is available through advance registration for $10 and is limited. For more information, visit fmcm.org/refresh.
For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online or by downloading our new Church App by texting FMCMAPP to 77977 or by searching FMCM in your App Store.
I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.
Grace and Peace in Christ,
Pastor Shea
