A Note From Pastor Sheaby Pastor Shea Reyenga
Dear First Family,
Praise God, Pastor David and our Holy Land pilgrims are back! It’s also Super Bowl weekend! Are you more interested in the game or commercials? Personally, I’m looking forward to the game. It’s going to be awfully difficult slowing down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense. I like the Chiefs in a close one. As big as the Super Bowl is, coming together as a family of faith to worship the one and only God from whom all blessings flow is far greater!
Please join Pastor David and me this weekend in worship as we begin our new series, Double Blessing, inspired by Pastor Mark Batterson’s book of the same name. In his book Double Blessing, Batterson writes, "God doesn't bless us to raise our standard of living. God blesses us to raise our standard of giving." The way to get a double blessing is to give a double blessing. Our new four-week sermon series will help us focus on the ways God is blessing us to be a blessing for our church and the wider community.
In addition to worship, check out these upcoming ways to be in community and serve:
Student Mission Trip Registration opens February 1st. We are looking forward to once again host United Mission Week! This is a week set apart in July for our Middle School, High School, and Special Needs students and adults to participate in a week-long local mission experience. In addition to United Mission Week, we are also excited to take on a new adventure as we travel with our current High School students to Vinita, Oklahoma and participate in an out-of-state mission trip in early June. Registration for both of these mission experiences opens TOMORROW! Go to fmcm.org/unitedmissions to register or register on our FMCM App.
Come Play Pickleball! Join our Co-ed Adult Pickleball Group in the gym on Saturday afternoons for open play from 1-3 PM where we pray, play, and experience life together. Childcare is not available. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions you may have.
4th Annual Tim Tebow Night to Shine Prom. February 7, 6-9 PM. We are so excited to be an official host church for this year’s Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. To volunteer, please go here to register. If you’re able to volunteer, you must attend a mandatory meeting on Monday, February 3, from 6:30-8:00 PM in The Loft.
For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online or by downloading our new Church App by texting FMCMAPP to 77977 or by searching FMCM in your App Store.
I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.
Grace and Peace in Christ,
