A Note From Pastor Shea

A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,

The sun is going to shine today! We’re supposed to have great weather today and this weekend. I hope you have an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors now that it's not cold and rainy.

Please join us this weekend in worship as we finish our series, It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, based on the show and life of Fred Rogers. We will explore the kind of community we are called to be and the implications of our communal life for the neighborhoods where we reside.

In addition to worship, check out the four big things happening this weekend:

Would you prayerfully consider a volunteer opportunity? Do you volunteer with our Children/Students/ or Special Needs Ministries? Are you interested in learning more about what it takes to be part of the volunteer teams for these incredible ministries? Come to the Family Ministry Volunteer Training and Lunch on Sunday at 12:30 in the gym. Everyone will meet together for lunch and then each ministry will break apart and provide their own training for volunteers. Be part of something big in the life of a child and student. Go to fmcm.org/volunteerlunch to register and for more information!

Join us for Guys Night Out tonight! We’ll be in The Loft at 6:30 pm. Gourmet, brick-oven pizza is on the menu. We’ll hear from Mansfield’s own Mikhail “Misha” Orlov, Founder & CEO of WebyCorp, one of Inc magazine’s listed fastest-growing companies.  Misha is a serial entrepreneur, an amazing endurance athlete, and a man of deep faith. Join us to hear some great stories, business start-up advice, and to hear his take on how to work your faith into a life full of work and play. For more information contact grouplife@fmcm.org. Registration is required at FMCM.ORG/MEN.

Join with colleagues in our church family and community to explore ways we might serve together in health care mission opportunities in our community and our world. We’ll meet at 3pm in the Missions Building or Building D. You are among over 120 healthcare professionals in our church family and community who are being invited. Contact Pastor Sharon at pastorsharon@fmcm.org for more information.

The Financial Care Ministry is here to support you through the joys and struggles of one of the most significant areas of your life. You are invited to our next workshop at 4pm in Building C. This workshop is for those who have thought about setting up a budget but don't know how, for those that haven't thought about budgeting but always wonder where the money goes at the end of the month, or for those who already have their budget, but need the New Years' nudge to get back on track and tighten the strings again. Registration is required. Go to fmcm.org/financialstudies to register and for more information.

For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online or by downloading our new Church App by texting FMCMAPP to 77977 or by searching FMCM in your App Store.

I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.

Grace and Peace in Christ,

Pastor Shea
