A Note From Pastor Sheaby Pastor Shea Reyenga
Dear First Family,
Happy Friday! Remember we are having a Church Conference this Sunday at 3PM. We’ll be voting on Phase One of our building project and hearing the details of Phase Two. You are encouraged to come and all members can vote!
Please join us this weekend in worship as we continue our series, It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, based on the show and life of Fred Rogers. We will explore a better way to deal with our feelings. One of John Wesley’s General Rules was “do no harm.” When we refuse to manage our feelings and emotions, we can easily do harm to others. Part of the legacy of Fred Rogers is leading others to manage their feelings in a constructive way that improves the person and does no harm to others.
We have many important opportunities upcoming that I want to bring to your attention as you consider taking the next step on your faith journey in 2020:
We all face difficulties and loss in life and need a caring community around us. Journey Through Grief is a weekly small group that provides tools to cope with loss and grief in a loving environment. This group starts January 27 at 1:30pm. Go to fmcm.org/jtg to register or for more information.
Join us for Guys Night Out one week from today, January 24 at 6:30pm, where we will have great food and hear from Mansfield’s own Mikhail “Misha” Orlov, Founder & CEO of WebyCorp, one of Inc magazine’s listed fastest-growing companies. Misha is a serial entrepreneur, an amazing endurance athlete, and a man of deep faith. Join us to hear some great stories, business start-up advice, and to hear his take on how to work your faith into a life full of work and play. For more information contact email@example.com. Registration is required at FMCM.ORG/MEN.
Join us for these studies next week!
Study of Acts
January 22 | 6:30 | Chapel
The Acts of the Apostles is the story of Jesus leading his people by the Spirit to go out into the world and invite all nations to live under his reign. We get to see the church formation through its birth, growth, and missionary expansion. It is also the story of how everyday believers (like us) learned to see the Spirit’s work in their lives and find the mission that God had designed for them. Come join us as we study through Acts and are reminded of what the church of Jesus Christ is supposed to be about. Pastor Shea Reyenga and John Fortner will lead this study for 9 weeks and all are welcome!
Study of 1 Thessalonians
January 22 | 5:30 | Chapel
1 Thessalonians is Paul’s attempt to reconnect to the people he loves who, despite persecution, are growing in their faithfulness to Christ. It is a letter full of great encouragement with much to teach us on how to live faithfully and expectantly as Christians. Join Pastor Mike Ramsdell in the Chapel on Wednesday nights a three-week study on 1 Thessalonians. All are welcome.
I Love You More
January 22 | 6:30 - 7:30 PM| Chapel Room 6
Join our Marriage Ministry for a 6-week curriculum-based series. Following the teaching of Drs. Les & Leslie Parrott, we will learn how everyday problems are opportunities to deepen your love for each other and can strengthen your marriage. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Registration is required.
Raising Teens in a Contrary Culture
January 22 | 6:30 PM | Chapel Room 9
Join us for a 9-week curriculum-based parenting study, led by Andrea Roberts, as we learn how to pursue the heart of our teens in an opposing culture that doesn't always support or back a parent's desire to raise godly teens in a confusing culture. Registration is required.
For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online or by downloading our new Church App by texting FMCMAPP to 77977 or by searching FMCM in your App Store.
I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.
Grace and Peace in Christ,
Welcome New Members!
