A Note From Pastor Shea

Dear First Family,

I hope you’re having a special time spent with family and friends. We have much to be thankful for. Every day is a blessing and we worship a Good Good Father who knows our needs before we ask and is faithful to provide for his children. Please take time and express to God how thankful you are for what He has done and continues to do for you.

On behalf of the pastors and staff of First Methodist Church, we thank God for you. We are blessed to serve with such a kind-hearted and Kingdom-focused congregation.

Now that Thanksgiving Day has passed, it’s officially acceptable according to most Americans, to play Christmas music. We’re taking that one step further with our new sermon series. Please join us this weekend in worship as Pastor David and I begin our new series, Joy to the World. We’ll be lifting up a verse of this beloved Christmas hymn each week and see how the birth of Jesus is a cosmic event. As Christmas has become more secularized, it’s easier than ever to miss the deep truths expressed in many of our Christmas hymns. Joy to the World is a powerful reminder of God’s reign over our lives and over all of creation.

For those of you who will be out of town this weekend, I want to encourage you to worship with us and continue your giving online.

I thank God for you and praise Him for your faithfulness to the gospel. I look forward to seeing you around campus this weekend.

Grace and Peace in Christ,
Pastor Shea
